Pests in stored goods, silos, and shipping containers can lead to huge financial losses and product contamination. Standard pest control often fails to reach deep-seated pests, making fumigation the most effective solution.
At Seva Facility Services (SFS), we use advanced fumigation techniques to eliminate pests at all life stages, ensuring safe storage and transport while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Why Is Silo Fumigation Important?
Stored grains are vulnerable to pests like weevils, beetles, and moths, which can cause huge economic losses. Without proper fumigation, infestations can lead to:
Grain damage and weight loss.
Grain quality deteriorated & then grains unsafe for consumption.
Non-compliance with food safety regulations.
What is Silo Fumigation?
Silo fumigation is a specialized fumigation process used to eliminate insects pest in large grain silos. It involves introducing fumigants in a controlled manner, ensuring deep penetration into stored grains without affecting quality. Phosphine gas concertation monitoring system installed and measure thoroughout exposure period.
How It Works
The silo is sealed airtight to prevent gas leakage.
Phosphine gas (Aluminum Phosphide) is released inside, penetrating all grain layers.
The PH3 gas spread uniformed inside silo and kills pests at all life stages at specific dosage for specific exposure period.
After exposure time, the silo is aerated to remove any remaining gas, making it safe.
SFS Fumigation Process
Inspection & Sealing: Our experts check for all possible leakage points of silo from top, bottom and sides and then seal the silo properly to make silo leak proof.
Fumigant Application: We use Aluminum Phosphide for controlled release of phosphine gas.
Monitoring: Gas concentration levels are monitored throughout the process.
Aeration & Clearance: After 7-10 days, silos are aerated, ensuring no chemical residues remain.
Benefits
Prevents grain loss due to damaged by weevils, beetles and moths.
